February is here...

Have you been dedicated to your goal during January? Today is February 1st and you should have lost (if you started on 1/1) about 4-10 lbs., depending on your dedication and intensity. Great job.

If not, start today! A new month, a new you.

Do it and don't be another statistic.

January 2008...just another date

Enjoy your New Year celebration and continue with just understanding that you can't do "all or nothing" during your resolution.

Send email to zap120dave at yahoo and we'll get your comments on the upcoming episodes.

I've started to introduce pizza and other foods but in moderation... to my diet. The whole idea is for me to slowly get those foods out of my life and do it in a way where I barely notice.

Wishing you the best on your journey.

Dave

Thanksgiving 2007

I am truly thankful for being 220 this year during Thanksgiving. I cannot believe that it's been a year. I'm chugging along and doing well.

Where was I since April..? The film, moving, going back to school...all of the above. Things are still hectic as ever but I'm back and will try to update this when I can.

My email is zap120Dave at yahoo dot com. Feel free to drop me a note. How's your journey going?

Dave O is back in town and stronger and leaner...just in time for Thanksgiving...

Best Regards, Dave

Chiropractor and me...

I've started going to a chiropractor and had an MRI done tonight. We'll see the results on Friday. I've never been through any type of trauma like this before. Man, so many appointments and doctors to see. Good news, is that this is hopefully temporary. I've been advised not to exercise or do anything dumb as I may be being "watched". Yeah, there's a lawsuit going on.

I am also seeing a rheumatologist regarding a spinal condition that the chiropractor saw on the xrays. Ankylosing Spondylitis...?? Yeah, sounds like a scary fish. As you get old, you get all sorts of things going on. Blood tests and another visit to the Rheumatologist are in order in two weeks. Wow, sometimes things happen for a reason. I would have never known that my spine was deteriorating without this accident. Did you know that we ALL have degenerative disease after 30? I didn't. A wake up call I believe.

I have only been doing very light walking but feeling good enough to keep up the diet and exercise. Now more than ever, I need to be careful about calorie overload. Metabolism is slow and don't want to ruin all the wonderful progress.

Thank you all for the wonderful and thoughtful emails and ecards. I appreciate it so much. You are all so thoughtful and nice in this wonderful world. I will overcome this hurdle and rise up again stronger than ever.

We'll talk soon...

Dave

Thanks and Hi...

I want to first thank all of you for sending me those wonderful nudges of hellos and well wishes. It means a lot. Lately, I've been concentrating on music, the film, our home and in the middle of that I was involved in a car accident. Everybody is OK, except me.

I was rear ended at a major intersection while I was stopped and am in treatment for a painful back and am seeing a Rheumatologist on Monday because the chiropractor has seen some fusing of my discs in my spine in the xrays which he's concerned about. These may have been agravated by the accident - funny, never had any real pain. Needless to say, I was rocking and rolling along and was an awesome 267 lbs. before the accident. I'm taking it easy and will have an update ASAP. Nothing seems life threatening, just a little painful and concerned with the disc fusing. More details to come.

Best and Peace, Dave

Home equipment

When time is tight or you just want to keep revving up the metabolism, check out these items. Push up bars, fitness wheel and handgrips are a great way to get some exercise in when you're travelling or not able to make it to the gym.

Also, casein protein in cottage cheese may be good, but only in moderation while taking before bedtime. At least while I'm trying to change my numbers, I'm not going to be eating this before bed any longer. Doh!
