I am going to break 300 either tomorrow or later in the week. I am 300.5 today - this would be a loss of (total, since I started) of 22 lbs. and feeling great. I hope that the motivation stays with me. I have not been under 300 in YEARS!
I've been on the rollercoaster ride for about 15 years and really hate it. THIS time, I've created this blog and podcast to help myself chronicle my journey.
I cheated on Friday night at Cracker Barrel. Had eggs and steak and a Hershey Bar for dessert in their little store. I love that place, but won't be going back for a month. The great thing is that I didn't really enjoy the chocolate...you know...it was great for the first 30 seconds, then the sweetness sort of was overbearing believe it or not!
I had great workouts yesterday and today (especially today, to burn off the steak and eggs and chocolate). I figure that I'll cheat once every other two weeks, and HOPEFULLY get back on track.
Lately I've been munching on Weight Watchers candies that you can get at your local supermarket. The pecan ones seem to do the trick. Best off, they're NOT sorbitol so they don't give me the problems. If you're diabetic, check with your doctor before doing ANYTHING on the podcast or blog.
See you in healthy land!

Hi Dave...I listened to your podcasts today and really got a lot of ah-ha moments. I heard about you from Scott's newest podcast. You've produced a very informative podcasst and I'm in for the long haul. I'm Kelsana on MTM. I've got about 60 pounds to lose and I was told I was headed for that pre-diabetes label if I didn't change my ways. I plan on losing 5 pounds a month and being where I want to be in august of 2007. What a wonderful journey this will be. Keep up the great work!!!
Denise
Congrats of reaching 300 and soon breaking that milestone. Your success is something to be very proud of, but as you know - it does not stop here, and if you want to make your challenge a little easier... stay out of those CRACKER BARRELS! That place is a land-mine field of bad decisions. Do they even serve salads there? I don't remember - but I do know that they are not known for "healthier options". Restaurant chains are always an easy out, but you'll always give up some degree of "control" over what appears on your plate, and I have to imagine that you already know how to cook with a lot more skill than the 19 year old line cook who's just working for car payments...
I know you already know this... so take action buddy! The only thing you can control in this world are your decisions. So decide skillfully everytime, no excuses - your life depends on it.
