Somewhat political, but we have the power.

PGPR article from Europe. Interesting how it was originally banned in the U.S. Says something about global supply and demand as well as corporate profit objectives.

Educate yourself on Trans fats... and read this. If this is not enough, read the FDA Food section within their Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act. We have the power to petition and change things.

More about hydrogenation and the oils it creates...

Canola oil article...

Hydro Oil article

After reading and being shocked about what our government allows us to ingest, THEN read my little blurb below...

As a personal testimony, I can remember when I was an employee during one of my High School summers in the M&M/Mars company in NJ. My job was to weight some large bags of M&M's to ensure the weight of the bags were what they said they were. We had to do Australian and U.S. candies. I clearly recall that the Australian ones had to be separated and NEVER mixed with the U.S. candy bags. We were given some of the "underweight" bags as "thank you's" during the day since they not going to be used any way. When I commented to my supervisor about the NON-U.S. candies tasting so much better, I was told that the Australian chocolate had much more rigorous standards than the U.S. (This was back in 1980 or so).
